By coming into relationship with our elevated elder ancestors, we connect with a source of guidance, support and love in our lives and contribute to the healing of inter-generational wounds and patterns. When we claim our ancestral gifts and inheritance, we deepen our belonging in the world, re-enliven our ancestral wisdom and practices, become clearer in our soul's purpose, and become a more wholesome force for personal and collective healing. We also reclaim ancestrally relevant practices for grieving and supporting the rite of passage of death.
Through teaching, experiential practice, ritual, song, movement, and guided trance/visioning, participants will connect with elder ancestral guides to gain insight into lineage gifts and unresolved patterns, and embark on ritual healing of those dead who haven't completed their rite of passage. The training is a trauma-aware, somatics-informed, culturally-inclusive ritual container that embraces the relationship of ancestral reclamation towards personal and cultural healing. Workshops can be one-day, two-day or three-day offerings. Please reach out to inquire about bringing one to your community or organization. |
The despair that is for the destruction of our other-than-human kin in these times is inescapable. This is a grief that doesn't go away, however it is vital to have ongoing places to release and express this despair if we are to remain open and responsive to meeting the needs of our times.
Ritual within community is one way to provide a transformative container to meet our heartbreak and allow its expression and release; to allow some of the reservoir to flow. If your heart is cracked open by the devastation of this crisis, I welcome you to gather with others in a community ritual to pay homage to that which has been lost, is disappearing, and that which may feel too difficult to name. Our time consists of Council practice, personal reflection, writing exercises, small group sharing, singing, and a collective grief ceremony around the community altar. |
Belonging. One word, 9 letters, and yet a portal to immense feelings of longing and loss for many of us. It is both personal and collective. This longing may be rooted in personal experiences, ancestral memories, and/or within the broader symptoms of Western modernity - a collective wounding that weaves throughout our lives in ways that can both be named, and in ways that reach beyond our words and knowing. It can be difficult to name those things we came into the world anticipating, and yet never receiving. All we know is something is missing.
We will explore ancestral connection, soul movements, and respectful animist relationships with the more-than-humans and place through ritual, Council practice, movement, and ceremonial dialogue, as pathways to nurture belonging in our own lives, and in our broader communities. |
